アル中で、家には電話も無くて、、、そんな奇人・変人の呼び声高いアレックス・チルトン。
大体、そういう、社会性も無くてしょーもないヒトに限って素晴らしいメロディを書いてたりするモンだ。
アレックスが70年代に率いてたバンドがBIG STARだ。
かなりカルトで地味な存在のバンドだが、前述のNEW YORK DOLLS同様、唯一無二の輝きを放って、
それは現代でも止まない。普遍の音を鳴らしてる、って事だな。
「普遍の音」ってのは、なんかキラキラしてる、ってのと同義なのだろうか。

今日はBIG STARのファーストアルバム"#1 record"から1曲カヴァーを。
アレックスの曲の中でも1,2位を争う屈指の名曲です。
歌詞について言えば、ニール・ヤングも"rock 'n roll can never die"って歌ってるし、それに近いカンジかもな。
13歳のロック魂。そう、少年は孤独なんだ。
